Dental technology is always evolving over time. At Perspective Dentistry, we want to provide our patients with the best quality dental services available. That’s why we believe it’s so important to offer the very latest, cutting-edge dental technology, including the following:

Digital X-rays

Digital x-rays use an electronic sensor (rather than old-fashion x-ray film) to take digital images, then store them on a computer. Using this new technology, the dentist or hygienist can enlarge the image to more clearly see where problem areas may exist. Another benefit – digital x-rays reduce the amount of radiation a patient is exposed to by as much as 80 or 90 percent!

Panoramic X-rays

Panoramic x-rays do exactly as the name implies – they take an image of the entire mouth at once. This technology uses a tiny amount of ionizing radiation to take the image. Although this type of x-ray is used by many different dental professionals on a regular basis, it’s particularly useful for procedures involving implants, braces, dentures, and tooth extractions.

Intra-Oral Cameras

Intro-oral cameras allow Dr. Smitherman to examine your teeth and gums in a very “up-close-and-personal” way, allowing her to gain views that would otherwise not be possible with traditional technology. Images are uploaded to a computer, where they can be viewed by both Dr. Smitherman and the patient, enabling her to better explain treatment options.

High Tech Sterilization

At Perspective Dentistry, we use the very latest procedures in sterilizing technology to ensure that our patients are safe. This involves everything from providing patients with goggles during procedures to having our staff wear masks while working on patients to using state-of-the-art sterilizing measures on all of our equipment and instruments. This is just one more way that we provide the highest quality dental services to our patients!
